The Shop

Kobanzame is a vintage clothing shop in an 80-year-old wooden house in Motomachi, Kawagoe, Saitama. We carry vintage clothing sourced in Japan and abroad, and GAW, our own line of remade accessories. We choose by material, texture and the feel of each single piece, not by brand or trend. Everything on this site is also in the shop.

Where is Kobanzame?

At 1-14-5 Motomachi, Kawagoe, Saitama (350-0062), in an 80-year-old wooden house. The shop is run by Plug Inc.

Opening hours?

Open 12:00–20:00. Closed every Monday and Tuesday. Changes are announced on Instagram. From 1 November 2026: Tuesday to Sunday 13:00–20:00, closed on Mondays.

What do you sell?

Vintage clothing sourced in Japan and abroad (men's and women's) and GAW, our own line of remade accessories. Every piece is one of a kind.

What is GAW?

Kobanzame's own remake accessory line. We turn materials such as old spoons into one-of-a-kind pendants, bangles and more.

Can I buy online?

Yes. Pieces on this site can be bought by credit card through Square. Online checkout ships within Japan; for overseas shipping, contact us first.

Is shipping included?

Yes. Prices on this site include tax and domestic shipping.

When will it arrive?

We dispatch within 3 days of payment (excluding our closed days).

Can I return it?

As these are one-of-a-kind vintage items, we do not accept returns for change of mind. If the item differs significantly from the description or we sent the wrong item, email us within 4 days of arrival.

Can you hold a piece for me?

Every piece is one of a kind, so we do not hold items, online or in the shop. First come, first served.

Is online stock the same as in the shop?

Yes. The same one-of-a-kind pieces are sold on this site, in the shop and on Mercari Shops (shared stock). Other channels are stopped automatically once a piece sells; in the rare case that it sells in two places at once, the order paid first is honoured and the other customer is contacted and fully refunded.
