We are Kobanzame, a vintage shop in an old wooden house in Kawagoe. The top of this pendant is an old spoon. In the shop, people often ask us, "What was this before?"
The original spoon
The handle still carries an engraved floral pattern. It is decorative cutlery, probably from around the 1980s. There is no maker's mark.
How we made it
We shaped the spoon into a pendant without erasing the engraving, and paired it with discontinued vintage white-heart beads and a treated deerskin cord. Slide the knot to set the length anywhere from about 50 to 90 cm. A one-of-a-kind piece from our GAW line.
How to wear it
Add it to the collar of a plain T-shirt or a leather jacket. For anyone who dislikes wearing the same mass-made accessory as everyone else.
With age
Nickel silver and leather both change colour with wear. If the nickel silver darkens, polish it with a soft cloth.
